Match report Allscott Cricket Club 2nd XI were making their debut in the Marston Shropshire Premier League Reserve Division, at home to Newtown 2nds. New captain Les(Pie boy) Pritchard won the toss and inserted Newtown. The Allscott bowlers put the Newtown batsmen under pressure from the off and scoring runs was hard to come by. J.Anthony and Brian Jones were the opnly batsmen to get into their 20,s and eventuall they were all out in their last over for 123 runs. Anthony Hyde, making his debut for Allscott took 3 wkts, and was well supported by another debutant, John Watson (2wkts) and veteran Ian Pollard (2 wkts).
Allscott then batted steadily in their run chase and got home by 6 wkts in the 35th over for the loss of 4 wickets. Craig Rotchell batted well for his 36 and Steve Powell hit a beligerant 38, and the win was completed by Nic Gittens with a six!!
